Kimberly Helms, PMHNP
Kim is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a profound dedication to the mental health community. Born and raised in North Carolina, she initially pursued degrees in Chemistry and Education at North Carolina State University. Subsequently, Kim relocated to the Midwest, earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.
With a career foundation predominantly set in psychiatric inpatient facilities as a Registered Nurse, Kim has cultivated a deep and nuanced understanding of mental health, intensifying her passion for supporting individuals in this domain and contributing to the eradication of mental health stigma. Her clinical expertise spans a range of conditions including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), and anxiety disorders.
An ardent advocate for equality and inclusion, Kim has a special interest in serving the LGBTQ+ community, fostering a respectful and embracing environment for all. She has a particular focus on women's holistic mental and physical well-being, employing a comprehensive and empathetic approach to care. Kim values open dialogue and encourages her patients to be self-advocates and active participants in their treatment plans.

Outside of her professional commitments, Kim relishes quality time with her sons and a diverse array of pets. She has a penchant for exploring local breweries, family-friendly music festivals, and introducing her children to iconic film franchises and nostalgic Disney movies. Kim’s varied interests and enriched life experiences contribute to her dynamic approach to mental health care, allowing her to relate to and support her patients in a meaningful and impactful manner.
