Megan Cooper is a native resident of NC. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Masters of Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill.
Megan has provided direct services to people of many backgrounds in a variety of workplace settings, cultivating an appreciation for diversity and taking a holistic approach to wellness. Her professional expertise includes working with anxiety, depression and mood disorders, eating disorders and other addictive behaviors, body image concerns, neurodivergence, developing a healthy relationship with oneself, coping with major life stressors, learning tools for effective communication, and building up a meaningful lifestyle. Her approach to therapy is to work collaboratively with the client towards the goals they set for themselves, with an emphasis on empowerment and teaching relevant skills. Her work draws from CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and other trauma-informed modalities. She offers flexibility in what the structure of sessions looks like and can integrate components of art therapy, spirituality practices, mind-body work, and other culturally-informed approaches.
In her free time Megan enjoys trying new foods, spending time with family and friends and her two cats, reading or listening to audiobooks, and practicing improv comedy.
